On his way to becoming a second-round pick by Indianapolis, USC receiver Michael Pittman Jr. entered December’s Holiday Bowl against Iowa with 37 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns in his previous three games.
Then he faced Hawkeyes cornerback Michael Ojemudia.
Iowa won 49-24 and Pittman, working mostly against Ojemudia, was held to six catches for 53 yards, tape that should serve as an example of why the Broncos drafted Ojemudia in the third round.
Ojemudia played his usual boundary cornerback spot for all 66 defensive snaps. He was targeted in coverage nine times, which resulted in five completions, mostly coming on shorter throws such as outs, digs and comebacks.
