Following the Broncos’ first training camp practice Wednesday, receiver KJ Hamler was discussing hamstrings, training changes, hydration strategies, making big plays … and steak.
“You have a piece of jerky,” he said, holding out his right hand.
“And you have a juicy steak,” he added, holding out his left hand.
Due to persistent hamstring issues, Hamler had a tough — or “jerky” — rookie year, limited to 30 catches in 581 snaps.
This year, after an adjusted routine based on drinking more fluids and lifting fewer weights, a refreshed — or juicier — Hamler wants to bring the juice.
