Broncos promote LB Quentin Gause to active roster; Marlon Brown to IR

With starting linebacker Brandon Marshall nursing a left hamstring injury that will keep him out on Sunday at Tennessee and maybe longer, the Broncos promoted linebacker Quentin Gause from their practice squad to provide depth and special teams help.

In a corresponding roster move, receiver Marlon Brown was placed on injured reserve. Denver signed Brown to a two-year contract Nov. 21 in hopes he could add a boost to their receiving core. He’s battled back injuries for much of the last two seasons, including earlier this summer when the Broncos first signed him.

Gause, 6-foot, 243 pounds, is a rookie from Rutgers University who spent the last eight weeks of the season on Denver’s practice squad.
