Last in a series previewing the Broncos position groups. Today: special teams
Broncos coach Vic Fangio’s background is entirely on defense, but he made an impression in an early offseason special teams meeting.
“It’s been a fairly seamless transition,” said linebacker Joe Jones, whose 346 special teams snaps last year led the team. “But there are some different verbiage for some of the same things based on how Vic likes things worded.”
An example: Last year, special teams coordinator Tom McMahon called a reach-and-hold-up maneuver “Lobster Technique.” Not anymore.
“Vic didn’t like that term so now it’s ‘Clamp Squeeze,’” Jones said.
