Steelers offensive lineman Cody Wallace was fined $23,152 by the NFL for his late hit on Broncos safety David Bruton during the first quarter of Sunday's game, according to the NFL Network.
Wallace's helmet-to-helmet hit, which came two plays after Bruton sustained a fracture in his right fibula, was flagged for unnecessary roughness. Bruton said Monday that he believed the hit was dirty and that he hoped Wallace would be punished by the league.
Wallace was not suspended and Bruton's teammates felt he should have been. Typical were the comments by cornerback Aqib Talib.
