The Denver Broncos made it official on Friday, placing defensive end Vance Walker on injured reserve after he tore his ACL this week. In correspondence, they have signed tight end Manasseh Garner with the open roster spot.
Garner spent all of OTAs and minicamp with the team but was waived on the first day of training camp after needing an emergency appendectomy. WebMD states that you can return to usual activities between two and three weeks after surgery, and here we are, three weeks later Garner is back with the team.
With recent minor injuries to Garret Graham and Jeff Heuerman, the Broncos will add the 24-year-old product of Pittsburgh to the fold at tight end.
