ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have placed defensive end Billy Winn on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Bears. In a complementary transaction, the team signed defensive lineman Nelson Adams.
Winn, fifth-year veteran, injured his right knee when he fell awkwardly with 39 seconds remaining in the first quarter. He became tangled up with multiple Bears linemen during a Ka'Deem Carey run.
Winn was listed as the second-team nose tackle on the team's initial depth chart released Monday. He played in all 16 games in 2016, starting twice, and he totaled 19 tackles and one fumble recovery.
