Broncos not helping Peyton Manning much in first start since Nov. 15

DENVER – In his first start since Nov. 15 Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning finished the first half of the AFC divisional round game 11-of-22 passing for 99 yards.

But, as the Pittssburgh Steelers had a 10-9 lead at halftime, Manning didn’t get much help. The Broncos dropped six passes in the opening half, two by wide receiver Bennie Fowler, two by wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, one by wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and one by running back C.J. Anderson.

The Broncos left plenty of yardage on the table with the drops, in particular Anderson’s and one of Sanders’.
