Broncos coach Vic Fangio said Monday that nose tackle Mike Purcell will miss the rest of the season due to a foot injury sustained in Sunday’s 43-16 loss to Kansas City.
Fangio said he thinks the injury is a Lisfranc fracture, which involves the bone in the mid-foot area. Purcell played only five snaps against the Chiefs.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Purcell joined the Broncos in 2019 and became a starter in Week 5. Earlier this month, Purcell signed a three-year, $11.5 million contract extension through the 2023 season.
In six games this year, Purcell had 15 tackles and one sack.
