The Broncos’ defensive line regained some needed depth Monday. Reserve nose tackle Kyle Peko passed his physical and was activated from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
Peko broke a bone in his right foot during practice in June and was projected initially to be back by early training camp.
His return is welcome for a line that has suffered a rash of injuries this summer. Defensive end Billy Winn suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason opener, and starting defensive ends Derek Wolfe (ankle) and Jared Crick (back) have missed recent weeks to recover injuries sustained in practice.
