ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – So much has changed since Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian was tossed down on his left shoulder in the Broncos’ Week 4 win in Tampa.
The team was 4-0 after that game. But Siemian was physically compromised in many of the weeks that followed and later suffered a left foot injury behind pass protection that didn’t consistently limit the punishment he has taken since. And the Broncos' offense lost whatever rhythm it had and has not re-gained it despite Siemian's quality work.
That's because the Broncos haven’t consistently run the ball since Week 3 or so – they’re now 27th in the league – and while their defense has been among the league’s best throughout the season, they’re also 4-6 in games since Siemian suffered his shoulder injury, including Sunday’s 16-3 loss to the New England Patriots.
