The Denver Broncos were without Baron Browning until Week 7 last season and once he returned to the field the defense got on a great run helping the team win six of their next seven games. During that stretch, Browning racked up 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles while only playing about 60-65% of snaps in those games.
With Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper rotating in keeping all three fresh throughout games the defense was on fire and generating sacks and turnovers at rates that helped an often anemic offense win some games. In my mind, it’s no coincidence that the run ended once one of the three was inactive.
