Joe DeCamillis hasn’t had much time to process all that’s happened in the past 24 hours.
The Broncos suffered their first loss of the season to Atlanta, their head coach Gary Kubiak was hospitalized for a “complex migraine” that will cause him to miss this week and DeCamillis was named interim coach, tasked to get the team ready for a game at San Diego on a short week.
When general manager John Elway told DeCamillis, the Broncos special teams coach, he was chosen to lead the team this week he wasn’t surprised or shocked. He just said, “yes sir” and began to prepare for his new responsibility.
