The Broncos will enter Wednesday’s 2 p.m. start of the signing/trading season without a starting center and barely any defensive linemen.
Connor McGovern, who had started the last 23 games at center dating to 2018, agreed to terms on a three-year, $27 million contract with the New York Jets.
Houston Texans nose tackle D.J. Reader, pursued by the Broncos and offered a contract, opted to join the Cincinnati Bengals (four years, $53 million, according to his agency). It is believed the Broncos are still reaching out to the representation of several defensive linemen.
And wrapping up the day, the Broncos put a deal in place with the Cleveland Browns to trade fullback Andy Janovich for a 2021 seventh-round pick.
