So when the Broncos decided to make their long snapper an unrestricted free agent this week rather than submit a minimum salary tender of $2.0235 million, Kreiter didn’t fret.
“I’m smart enough and understand the business of the position — long snapper’s don’t get paid 2-million dollars,” Kreiter said. “We’ve been in contact with the Broncos for a couple weeks now. It’s just been working out the right deal.”
Kreiter and Denver wasted little time finding middle ground with the team’s Thursday announcement it signed him to a one-year contract. Kreiter, who enters his fourth season with the Broncos, is set to earn $1 million.
