Jeff Holland joined teammates in the southwest tunnel at Broncos Stadium last Saturday night, and finally, the wait was almost over.
A coaches’ decision to make linebacker Shane Ray, a 2015 first-round NFL draft pick, inactive versus the Browns led to Holland, an undrafted rookie, getting to play the edge rushing rotation for the first time this season. Holland didn’t make the 53-man roster cut in September. He was signed to the practice squad and Denver promoted him to the active roster in late November. Then Holland ran onto the field in Week 15 at Broncos Stadium for his Mile High debut.
