The Broncos needed only four plays Sunday to record their first turnover of the day and bring back memories of their painful overtime loss to Kansas City in November. After a three-and-out by the Patriots, punter Ryan Allen booted the ball 38 yards, prompting Jordan Norwood to run up field to receive it, this time, he hoped, without fumbling.
He had already done so twice against the Chiefs, and lost his job as the Broncos’ leading punt-returner to Kalif Raymond as a result. Sunday, however, Norwood was given a shot at a do-over.
“What we did offensively today, I wanted Jordan up,” Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said.
