If Broncos president Joe Ellis gets his wish, Denver will be headed to London next season to take on the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL’s International Series.
The Falcons are set to play in the game against a non-divisional opponent on their schedule, making the Broncos one of five candidates (along with the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders) to take on Atlanta.
“I hope we get the opportunity,” Ellis said. “I’m basically begging (the NFL) to get it because I think it’d be very good for us to play there.”
Though the location has yet to be officially announced by the league, Ellis believes it will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London.
