ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- They paid him. They might as well protect him.
Or at least that’s the sentiment for the Denver Broncos after ponying up a $36 million deal for quarterback Case Keenum.
But now comes the hard part. The Broncos have struggled to protect their most important player all the way back to Peyton Manning’s injury-marred 2015 season that ended with a Super Bowl win. In short, if the Broncos don’t find a way to protect Keenum better than they protected Manning, Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch, they almost certainly will have to try to fix their offense once again next offseason.
