Broncos greatest players of all-time: #47, fullback Howard Griffith

Related Topics: Denver Broncos, Howard Griffith

Howard Griffith wasn’t in the NFL very long. He only played eight seasons and only four of them for the Denver Broncos.

Howard Griffith was nicknamed “the human plow”

Griffith was a 9th round pick of the Colts in 1991 after playing college for the Illini. He did not play the 1991 or 1992 season and was strictly a special teams player for the Rams in 1993. At 6-0, 230 lbs Griffith was always more a blocker than a runner or a receiver, but he did have 65 carries for the Panthers in 1995 and then 48 targets (27 catches) for them the following season.
