During the offseason in 1967, the Denver Broncos traded long-time great and future Ring of Famer, Lionel Taylor, to the Oakland Raiders along with Jerry Sturm for three other players. One of those being Rich Jackson who was an undrafted rookie the year before and appeared in just five games.
Jackson was playing at the linebacker position, but then Broncos head coach Lou Saban saw a player that should be rushing off the edge. The move to defensive end changed everything for Jackson who immediately began dominating. In his second season as a Bronco he was named an All-Pro in the AFL and a star in the league.
