In a surprising shake up in the front office, the Denver Broncos have elevated John Elway into a non-GM role. He is still the President of Football Operations, but he will no longer have full control of the day-to-day roster decisions.
Joe Ellis announced that he, Elway, Vic Fangio and head PR man Patrick Smyth will be involved in the interview and hiring process.
“Vic, John and I will be the active participants,” Ellis said. “Since we’re all over the age of 60, we’ll need an active notetaker, and that’ll probably be Patrick Smyth to help us out.
