ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- It has been the reason Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has had a what-me-worry face whenever he has discussed the team's salary-cap situation. As their cap room became just a sliver this past week, the team made the first of two moves that would create up to $18 million worth of salary-cap room.
After failed attempts to renegotiate his contract in recent weeks, the Broncos traded tackle Ryan Clady Saturday, a move which gave the Broncos $8.9 million worth of much-needed cap relief. After the Broncos signed Jared Crick to a two-year, $4 million deal this week that included a $1 million signing bonus -- Crick has base salaries of $1 million in 2016, $1.
