The Broncos’ 2016 first-round pick is not ready for a starting spot. That was the determination coach Vance Joseph made as he announced Trevor Siemian — not Paxton Lynch — as the team’s starting quarterback on Monday.
Denver’s 2017 first-round selection? He’ll occupy a major role from the start of his career.
Joseph officially named Garett Bolles, the 20th overall pick in April’s draft out of Utah, the team’s starting left tackle. The move doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Bolles received the bulk of the first-team repetitions at the position during training camp and started both preseason games.
