Fresno State entered the 2017 Hawaii Bowl against Houston with an offensive line that was equal parts durable and dependable.
The five-man unit combined to miss no starts and allowed just nine sacks (for 62 yards) in 13 games, including meetings against two college football heavyweights (Alabama and Washington) and two matchups against a Boise State team that finished 11-3.
But facing Houston meant planning for defensive tackle/one-man wrecking crew Ed Oliver, who as a sophomore already possessed many of the traits that would make him the ninth overall pick to Buffalo in 2019.
