It took Dre’Mont Jones a bit to settle into this season, but the grace period for opposing quarterbacks is over.
Now that Jones found his groove, offensive lines are going to need to earmark him for double-teams down the stretch. After posting 4.5 disruptions in the first seven games, the Broncos defensive end has been a pass-rush nightmare lately, with 16.5 disruptions over the past five games.
“I feel like I’ve been building toward this,” Jones said. “I’ve been preaching up and down (to myself), ‘Don’t press it, (the production) will come.’ What I watch on tape is that I’m being consistent, I’m winning (against my blocker), and I’m being disruptive.
