Broncos’ DeMarcus Ware to have surgery on forearm; out 4-5 weeks

Sunday against Indianapolis, the Broncos’ defense made it clear it hasn’t missed a step since its Super Bowl 50 victory in February.

But it will miss one of its star pass-rushers for at least a month.

Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware fractured his right forearm in the third quarter of the team’s victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night and will have surgery to repair the bone Tuesday, coach Gary Kubiak said. Ware is expected to miss 4-5 weeks.

Ware told 9News Sunday night that the injury occurred when he collided with fellow outside linebacker Von Miller on an attempted sack of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck early in the third quarter.
