Ahead of today’s 2 p.m. deadline to set their initial 53-man roster, the Broncos swung two trades.
Confirmed by league sources, the Broncos:
Traded receiver Trinity Benson and a 2023 sixth-round pick to Detroit for fifth- and seventh-round picks in 2023.
Traded a 2022 sixth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick to San Francisco for linebacker Jonas Griffith and a 2022 seventh-round pick.
By dealing Benson, it’s an indication he wasn’t going to make the Broncos’ roster as the sixth receiver and also is a tell that the Broncos may keep only five receivers (Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, Tim Patrick and returner Diontae Spencer).
