Broncos DE Vance Walker carted off with injury during Monday practice

The Broncos’ defensive line suddenly is looking thin. Veteran end Vance Walker, who returned from a back injury to practice Monday, went down early in seven-on-seven drills and was carted off with what appeared to be a right leg injury.

Jared Crick assumed Walker’s position in drills. It’s not known yet how severe Walker’s injury is, or if he’s expected to miss time.

In the wake of Malik Jackson’s free-agency exit, Walker moved up as the Broncos’ starting right defensive end, with Crick, Billy Winn and Calvin Heuertelou behind him. The defensive line already has undergone multiple shifts to compensate for injuries.
