Broncos running back C.J. Anderson underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee Thursday in California and is expected to miss “significant time,” coach Gary Kubiak said Friday. The team is still evaluating his timeframe for a return and their options in filling the void at running back.

“Surgery was a super success been resting all day,” Anderson tweeted Friday morning. “FaceTime all my teammates got some good laughs #blessed love them boys.”

With Anderson sidelined, rookie running back Devontae Booker and second-year back Kapri Bibbs will take on bigger roles in the offense.
