Broncos CB Bradley Roby fined $24,309 for hit vs. Rams

Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby was fined $24,309 for unnecessary roughness in the Broncos’ preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams. Roby mauled Rams receiver Duke Williams on a third-and-15 in the second quarter and cost the Broncos 15 yards on the play.

Earlier in the second quarter, Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was called for unnecessary roughness for a late hit on Case Keenum as the quarterback scrambled out of bounds. The Broncos were penalized 15 yards on the play, but Talib was not fined for the hit.

The NFL’s 2016 schedule of fines, which is collectively bargained with the NFL Players’ Association, calls for a minimum first-offense fine of $24,309 for hitting a defenseless player.
