The Broncos canceled practice Friday after they had a player test positive for COVID-19 for the first time since July 30.
A league source confirmed an ESPN report Friday morning that a Broncos offensive lineman’s test came back positive. Around 9:30 a.m., the Broncos issued a statement confirming the news.
While not naming the player, the Broncos said: “The player is at home in self-isolation along with two other players who were determined to be close contacts.”
The Broncos said the team is “scheduled to return,” to practice on Saturday.
Earlier this week, offensive line coach Mike Munchak entered the COVID-19 protocol and was not present at practice Wednesday or Thursday.
