Broncos bring back Danny Mason, release Henry Krieger-Coble

After learning that Shane Ray would be out 6-8 weeks with a wrist injury, the Denver Broncos took immediate action, making a roster move on Saturday morning. The team announced the signing of linebacker Danny Mason, and subsequent release of tight end Henry Krieger-Coble.

Mason, 26, spent time with the Broncos in 2015 as a reserve/futures contract player who also ended up making the team’s practice squad.

His inclusion on the practice squad was interesting, because Mason was let go when the rosters had to be cut down to 75 players rather than 53. The guys that get released in the first wave of cuts usually don’t get the call to come back to the practice squad, but the Broncos must have seen something in Mason they liked at the time.
