Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his one-interception, one-touchdown, 11-tackle performance in last week’s win over Houston.
It is the first time a Broncos player has been honored this year.
Jackson joined New Orleans’ Fred Weary (vs. Dallas in 1999) and Chicago’s Brian Urlacher (vs. Atlanta in 2011) as the only players with at least 10 tackles, one interception and one fumble return touchdown in a single game.
“It’s obviously an honor,” Jackson said before practice on Wednesday. “But I just thought about going there and helping the team and being a piece of the puzzle.
