Broncos believe not much room on 'a pretty good football team'

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- John Elway has spent his adult life in Denver, from the time he arrived as a fresh-faced quarterback savior in 1983 to his current job more than three decades later as the Broncos’ chief football decision-maker.

So he believes he understands what he’s called “the sky is falling, Rome is burning" mentality of local faithful who have purchased every seat for every home game in the team’s stadium since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.

And while some in, around and beyond the 303 area code have repeatedly wondered if the Broncos have done enough to rebound from last season’s playoff miss, new coach Vance Joseph has offered what he thinks might be a more objective look.
