DOVE VALLEY, Colo.–At times in the NFL, teams are awarded players are awarded off of waivers and such was the case for the Denver Broncos Tuesday. As reported by the Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala, the Broncos were awarded the services of fullback Toben Opurum from the New Orleans Saints.
Because the Broncos are currently at the maximum amount of players allowed, they were forced to make a release and decided to sever ties with former Southern Utah tight end Anthony Norris.
Opurum is a Kansas product and the Broncos have had success with Jayhawks in the past and present as former Broncos linebacker Steven Johnson, currently of the Pittsburgh Steelers, excelled with Denver from 2012-2014.
