The Broncos on Thursday scrambled to shore up their already thin offensive line, signing one former Colorado State standout to replace another.
Ty Sambrailo, Denver’s presumptive starting right guard, had his right arm in a heavy brace at both Wednesday and Thursday practices. A hyperextended elbow injury sidelined the second-year lineman from Colorado State. The line also is missing Sam Brenner (concussion).
So the Broncos signed rookie guard Sam Carlson, an undrafted free-agent who was waived by the Tennessee Titans in late July. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman played guard, tackle and center as a starter in 26 of 28 games for the Rams.
