Broncos coach Vic Fangio told the team Wednesday morning Bridgewater had edged out Drew Lock to be the team’s starter in the Sept. 12 season opener at the New York Giants. The Broncos’ Twitter account made the announcement official
Bridgewater will be the Broncos’ fifth Week 1 quarterback in as many years, following Trevor Siemian (2017), Case Keenum (’18), Joe Flacco (’19) and Lock (’20).
The 29-year old Bridgewater, acquired from the Carolina Panthers on April 28 for a sixth-round draft pick, completed 16 of 19 passes (84.
