Just about everything Broncos general manager John Elway said Saturday afternoon after cutting the roster to 52 players suggested his busy weekend was far from over.
About backup quarterback: “Exploring all our options.”
About fill-in fullback and reserve tight end: “We’ll continue to look.”
About inside linebacker depth: “We’ve got plans on one there.”
About punt returner: “We’re still looking.”
Translation: The Broncos may have set their initial roster, but the emphasis is on “initial.”
And really, that’s what Elway, coach Vic Fangio and their respective personnel and coaching staffs should be doing.
