The Broncos announced Sunday they agreed to terms with veteran linebacker Mark Barron.
Barron, 30, was in the Denver area this weekend to undergo COVID-19 testing in order to be eligible to practice this week.
A former first-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2012 as a safety, Barron moved to linebacker once he was acquired by the Rams in 2014. He played 4 1/2 seasons for the Rams and last year for Pittsburgh, where he had 82 tackles in 15 games (nine starts).
Inside linebacker became a depth need for the Broncos following rookie Justin Strnad’s season-ending wrist injury and starter Todd Davis’ current calf injury.
