The Broncos took a first step toward improving their makeshift offensive line Tuesday, agreeing in principle on a three-year contract with tackle Donald Stephenson, according to multiple NFL sources.
Stephenson, 27, will compete for a starting job at both tackle spots. His addition doesn't rule out Ryan Clady's return. The Broncos have spoken with Clady's agent about restructuring his contract after he missed last season with a knee injury. Clady has told teammates he hopes to return. Stephenson, 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, made seven starts last season and has logged 21 in his career, all with the Kansas City Chiefs.
