The Broncos made a practice squad addition Tuesday when they signed former Texans linebacker Reshard Cliett Tuesday, his agent said.
Cliett, a Texans 2015 sixth-round pick, was released in the team’s final roster cuts. He missed his rookie season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee during the preseason.
The Broncos were intrigued by Cliett’s speed and athleticism. During his South Florida pro day, Cliett, 6-foot-2, 235 pounds, ran a 4.4 and 4.5 40-yard dash.
Denver will need to make a corresponding transaction to open up a spot for Cliett on the practice squad.
