For Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, the day he has long awaited for has finally arrived. After having her sentenced pardoned by President Barack Obama, Katrina Smith is set to be released from prison today after fifteen years.
For those who did not follow the story during the offseason, or you just need a refresher, President Obama commuted sentences to those who were to serve 20 or more years in prison for non-violent related drug offenses. Smith, the mother of Thomas, was one of the 46 inmates who’s sentence was commuted.
This is an exciting moment for Thomas.
