Brian Flores didn’t tell his assistants to intentionally lose games in 2019, CU football coach and former Miami Dolphins staffer Karl Dorrell said Wednesday.
“That’s a really hot topic right now with (the NFL), a strong topic that needs to be addressed,” the Buffs coach said during a national signing day news conference, “but I would say that in that ’19 season with Coach Flores in Miami, there (were) no discussions about tanking games.
“At least, they weren’t expressing those things with the staff. We were working our tails off to try to find wins.”
As part of a class-action lawsuit filed Tuesday against the NFL and three teams, including the Broncos, Flores, who coached the Dolphins from 2019-2021, claimed that Miami owner Stephen Ross offered them an extra $100,000 for each game lost so the team could receive a higher draft pick.
