Brian Callahan, Broncos offensive quality control coach, hired by Lions

Brian Callahan, the Broncos' offensive quality control coach, was hired to be the Lions' quarterbacks coach, an NFL source confirmed.

The move reunites Callahan with Jim Bob Cooter, also a former Broncos offensive assistant who was promoted to offensive coordinator in Detroit last season.

Callahan, a former reserve quarterback at UCLA, was originally hired by the Broncos in February 2010 and has 10 years of coaching experience. He is the son of Bill Callahan, the former Oakland Raiders head coach and current Washington Redskins offensive line coach.
