Sunday’s game against Seattle was not the day Sean Payton, Bo Nix or any of the Denver Broncos wanted.
“It was a challenge. It was a tough day. They didn’t make it easy on us, that’s for sure,” Nix said.
But it was the day that was inevitable when playing a well-coached defense on its home turf and not being able to do the two things Payton has been saying for weeks will help his rookie quarterback — play good defense and have a solid run game.
The former was good for three out of four quarters and the latter was never good, averaging just over three yards per carry.
