MOBILE, Ala. — Shaquem Griffin, a linebacker out of Central Florida, is out to change minds and turn heads. When he was 4, Griffin had his left hand amputated because of Amniotic Band Syndrome, a prenatal condition in which amniotic membrane entangles a fetal extremity.
Playing with one-hand is the only way Griffin knows. And at the Senior Bowl and over the next few months, he’s on a mission to convince NFL coaches and scouts that two hands aren’t needed to do damage on the field.
Griffin said he met with the Broncos briefly Tuesday afternoon, but he’s been watching them from afar for quite some time.
