Broncos defensive lineman Antonio Smith will sit out voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) this week as an investigation of child-abuse allegations against him continues.
Smith and the Broncos mutually decided it would be best for him to take the time to try to resolve the matter away from the Broncos' facility.
The Fort Bend County (Texas) Sheriff's Office received a complaint against Smith, 33, in November 2014 and conducted an investigation before presenting its findings to the District Attorney, John Healey Jr., in February 2015. No charges have been filed against Smith.
It is Healey's decision to either convene a grand jury, or dismiss the case.
