Just as was assertive last week in finalizing contracts for receivers Tim Patrick and Courtland Sutton, Broncos general manager George Paton was equally swift when asked about his team’s spending capabilities.
“We have the resources to do whatever we want,” Paton said without hesitation. “Moving forward, we’re going to have a lot of cap room and we’re going to have cash.”
Paton is right.
Even after signing Patrick (three years, $30 million) and Sutton (four years, $60.8 million), the Broncos still have the resources to be active this offseason, either by signing their free agents or trading for a veteran quarterback.
