There were 18 accepted penalties in the Denver Broncos game last Sunday. Some of that was weather, and some of it was sloppiness, but all of it led to extra focus on the officials and their role in the close Broncos win over the New York Jets.
Offensive Pass Interference
Troy Franklin was called for offensive pass interference on Denver’s first offensive play of the game. This was a correct call, but I wanted to discuss what happened. Offensive eligible players are not allowed to block more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage before a pass is thrown.
